Strataview Energy scores every Bakken well 0–100 against its peers and its own decline curve — flagging workover and refrac candidates automatically, before your competitors find them first.

The problem
Bakken operators and acquirers lose value every month to production inefficiencies that nobody has time to catch.
NDIC downloads, spreadsheets, internal databases, and someone's shared drive. By the time you've assembled it, the opportunity has moved.
Plotting actuals, fitting Arps curves, pulling comps, normalizing by lateral — multiply that by a 200-well portfolio and you're already behind.
Large E&Ps and PE-backed acquirers run systematic screens across the entire basin weekly. Independent operators and smaller teams are stuck reacting.
The solution
Strataview Energy replaces the manual spreadsheet workflow with a systematic, always-on scoring engine that runs across your entire portfolio — so you see what needs attention the moment you log in.
See it in actionSix-component scoring engine runs on live NDIC production data. High score = underperforming relative to its own decline curve and peer group.
Rules engine identifies water-cut spikes, unexpected shut-ins, and wells that have aged into refrac eligibility. No manual screening.
Search by county, operator, or score threshold. Open any well for the full breakdown. Add to your watchlist. Done.
Features
Built for operators and acquisition teams who need answers in minutes, not days.
A 0–100 score per well combining production decay, decline rate vs type curve, peer comparison, shut-in history, water cut, and volatility. Surface your worst performers instantly.
Every Bakken well color-coded by risk level. Click any marker for an instant snapshot — score, cumulative oil, and a direct link to the full profile.
Oil, gas, and water history with Arps decline curve overlay. Your actual curve plotted against the peer P50 — the gap is your opportunity.
Side-by-side table of nearby wells in the same zone and vintage, normalized by lateral length. See exactly where your well ranks.
Filter across the entire Bakken by score, county, formation, operator, or any combination. Exported to CSV in one click.
Save wells you're monitoring and get notified when a score crosses your threshold — before the next NDIC update cycle.
How it works
No training required. Most teams are productive on day one.
Filter by county, formation, operator, or score threshold. Results are ranked by underperformance with scores computed live from NDIC production data.
Open any well profile for the full score breakdown — which component is dragging the number, how it compares to peers, and whether it's a workover or refrac candidate.
Add high-priority wells to your watchlist. Get a portfolio summary of high-risk count, refrac candidates, and average score across your tracked assets.

FAQ
Strataview Energy ingests publicly reported production data from the North Dakota Industrial Commission (NDIC), which operators submit monthly. We normalize, clean, and load it so you never have to touch a state regulator portal again.
The score combines six weighted components: production decay rate (35 pts), decline vs. Bakken type curve (25 pts), peer comparison normalized by lateral length (20 pts), shut-in history (10 pts), water cut trend (5 pts), and production volatility (5 pts). Higher score = more underperformance relative to the well's peer group.
We are currently focused exclusively on the Bakken / Three Forks play in the Williston Basin (North Dakota and Montana). This depth-over-breadth approach means our type curves, peer groups, and scoring benchmarks are highly accurate for Bakken wells. Additional basins are on the roadmap.
Enverus and IHS Markit are broad data platforms — they surface raw data but leave the analysis to you. Strataview Energy is a decision-support layer: every well is pre-scored, refrac and workover candidates are flagged automatically, and your team goes from login to an actionable opportunity list in minutes, not hours.
Yes. You can explore the full platform in Demo mode with realistic synthetic Bakken data before connecting real credentials. No credit card required to sign up. Paid plans unlock live NDIC data, email alerts, and CSV exports.
Pro and Enterprise plans support multiple seats and shared watchlists. On Enterprise you can also configure SSO and role-based access so landmen, engineers, and executives each see the right level of detail.
